Official Artist Channel (OAC)

OAC stands for Official Artist Channel.

YouTube has created this concept to link users’ accounts so they are under one channel.

For example – instead of having an official channel, a separate YouTube Music artist channel, and a Vevo channel appearing in a search, users will now only see the Official Artist Channel.

FAQ

Will Vevo videos be visible on my OAC channel?

Yes, if you see any missing videos, feel free to submit a help request with us.

When a Vevo video goes live, do users get a notification if they are only subscribed to the OAC channel?

Yes, as long as your YouTube and Vevo channels are linked, your subscribers will receive a notification that your Vevo video is live.

I’ve delivered a video to my OAC, will this also appear on my Vevo channel?

No, the video will only appear on your OAC. In order for the video to appear on both channels, you will need to request the video to be moved. You may submit a Help Request from your account under Help  ►  Submit Help Request.

How do I get an OAC?

To be eligible for an Official Artist Channel, make sure that you meet the following requirements:

  1. You must own and operate a YouTube channel that represents one artist or band.
  2. Have at least 1 art track (release on YouTube Music) submitted.
  3. Have at least 3 videos uploaded to your personal channel in addition to the release from a distributor (IE: ANS).
  4. Have no policy violations on your channel.
  5. It is possible that your request may be rejected if you meet any of the following:
    – The channel’s main focus is not music
    – The channel belongs to a label and not an artist
    – The main channel and the topic channel have a different artist name.
    – The artist has a considerable amount of non-original content on their channel.
    – The artist hasn’t uploaded any content to their Owned & Operated channel.
    – The artist hasn’t distributed to YouTube Music via ANS.
    – The topic channel has content from other similarly named artists, in that case, it is necessary to request both a topic channel fix and the OAC.
